TRAVEL REQUEST

Most travel arrangements are made two weeks prior to departure, though some arrangements have been made with as little as two days notice or as long as two months notice. Fewer flight options are available during the summer season and holidays.

Some tips to keep in mind:

• Children under the age of two can travel as a lap child, but must have an infant ticket on the international portion of the air ticket.
• Some return routings are not favored due to a forced overnight stay in a transit country. The complication is that a transit visa is required for the adoptive child.
• Changes happen. When changes occur prior to departure, simply contact us to rebook the new dates and cancel the original tickets. For changing the return date after travel begins, contact your agency or International Adoption Travel to initiate the change process.
• Parents will then be advised of the procedure to effect the change. You will also be advised prior to purchase the costs associated with these changes.

Once an itinerary is selected and confirmed, payment can be made via check or credit card. Many airline tickets are electronic and do not need to be shipped. Any paper tickets are shipped directly to the client. A copy of the itinerary is sent to the adoption agency for coordination with the local adoption agency staff.
